Build your Karpo Taste

Bring your Google Maps history.

Google splits your Maps data across two Takeout products. In this version, every saved pin is treated as an assumed 5-star preference; real ratings stay separate when available.

    Open Google TakeoutSign in, then choose “Deselect all.”

    Select “Saved” for your pinsThis includes Favorites, Want to go, and custom saved lists. Each imported pin becomes an assumed 5-star signal.

    For a stronger prediction, also select “Maps (your places)”This contains ratings and reviews. Five or more help calibrate your true five-star taste; Saved alone builds an interest-based profile.

The ZIP is opened in your browser. Only normalized place names, actual ratings, review text, and assumed 5-star save markers are sent to Jev; the original file is not uploaded or stored.

Bring your own Jev

Use your Jev API key.

Karpo Taste does not provide a shared key. Connect your own TypeSafe Jev account to rank the full map. The key is kept only in this browser tab and is never saved to browser storage or our database.

Protect your account first. In the TypeSafe console, set a low usage cap or billing alert before connecting. Ranking 1,253 places can make about 63 batched API calls. If your account has no hard cap, use a temporary key and revoke it after testing.
